The Pelican
Food
Our party had the Sweet & Sour Shrimp, Sautéed Shrimp and the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The food was scrumptious! The shrimp dishes were done just right, and the Cordon Bleu, though slightly bland (which was nothing their gravy couldn’t fix), was quite delicious as well. As far as their beverage menu goes, we’d advise you to stick to soda or something you’re already familiar with. Our party tried both their iced coffee and their frozen lemonade. We pretty much left those on the table.
Their menu also features a number of seafood and Jamaican dishes as well as burgers and sandwiches.
Service
We had no complaints about the service. It was friendly and prompt, and that’s generally all we ask. The prices were fairly reasonable for a restaurant of this sort.
Dress Code
Though there did not appear to be a strict dress code, most patrons were attired in a ‘casually elegant’ fashion.
Pelican is definitely on our list of places to revisit whenever we go back to Montego Bay. If you’re looking for good food at a restaurant that’s fancy but not too formal, this is the place.

Consistently good food.
Love the Chicken Cordon Bleu here, I have it almost every time I go. The service is decent and unlike a number of places on the 'hip strip' they also have parking for their patrons.

The Pelican is one of those places that lives and breathes Jamaica - the food is authentic and delicious; the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Anytime I was in Montego Bay, The Pelican was a must, now anytime I am in Jamaica, definitely have to make the effort. Sometimes I used to drive from Kingston to The Pelican just for the coconut cream pie! Highly recommended everytime!
| Dishes Ordered: | From the 1980s I have literally been through the entire menu ... but I really had a thing for their fruit melba and coconut cream pie! |

The Pelican, Food & Service Here Is Wonderful.
The food & service here is wonderful, it's a must stop everytime I touchdown. The first time I ate and fell in luv with the quailty at the Pelican was in Oct. 1998 and it was a winner since then. The food and service quailty refuses change year after year. I truely suggest the Pelican to all who appreciate Jamaican cooking.

It was just so-so for local food.
All 4 of us ordered local food and it wasn't super. It was just mediocre, nothing wow'd me. The prices were average but I think overpriced for the food quality.
Good location though, it's walkable from anywhere on the strip.
| Dishes Ordered: | All varieties of Jamaican food between 4 of us. |
