The food was amazing!!! Gimbilyn was actually a last minute change to my RW plans and I don't regret it at all. The service was very good and the food was delicious. The outside setting was great especially dinning under the stars. Only down point was limited parking inside and although security was around parking on the roadside is never really comforting for me. I give it a 9/10.

During Restaurant Week Ja
This was a little bit of an adventure. As we arrived the electricity went out, we were assured however that this wouldn't impede dinner as they have gas stoves...we were happy! The electricity was back by the time we were seated though.
They had a special section of the menu for Restaurant Week and all members of our party (of 7) were able to find something from all courses/categories. Though some persons thought the portions were small. I was personally happy that for once I could actually have all 3 courses! And at the end, I did not feel like a little piggy + the flavour of the meals were good, so I had no feelings of dissatisfaction or wanting at the end.
The electricity went again during dinner but because of the great ambiance this really didn't affect us and they quickly got candles out which fit right into the decor.
This was my first time at their new location and it had the same feel of the previous location and more importantly the food quality was just the same. Will definite be going there again.

It is my great pleasure to write this review. I had the best dining experience at The Terrace and during Restaurant Week which is difficult to do when you don't catch them on the first day. Now where to start. From walking up the steps and the warm greeting and being seated. We were told by the hostess the name of our server and handed our menus. Our server Devon(yeah Devon working at Devon House)came and introduced himself and told us the drink specials available. It was the only place that actually told us what each mix was everybody else just gave us to read. Made a huge difference. As he went to get our cocktails David (who we later found out was the owner) came to take our orders and tell us the soup of the day. Very courteous and a touch of humour, very engaging. Had us laughing and feeling comfortable.
Now food time. The Escargot in Garlic Butter with Puff Pastry Croutons. The perfect way to start the night. Presentation and taste were A+. Yes people snails, it was yummy. I will write more about this in my blog www.jantucaribbeanreview.blogspot.com after restaurant week. We wanted to put a straw in the leftover garlic butter and slurp it up. Now the main course the Stuffed Fillet of Snapper... Just wow that is in the top 10 of meals I have ever had. We spent the entire meal just saying wow. So full but had to keep eating and the creamiest mashed potatoes. The white cream sauce with fresh fillet of snapper not frozen fish. Was melt in your mouth goodness. Then topped off is the Island Key Lime Pie with the Graham Cracker crust. Light and fluffy with a crust that is beyond delicious. I can see myself just coming for a slice of pie and a glass of wine.
It was the perfect meal from start to finish and the staff and service were perfect. David came and spent time telling us about the ingredients and his regular menu and we were in shock to see how reasonably priced they are. We cant wait for Restaurant Week to end so we can try the other things on the menu. They have Oxtail, Stew peas, pasta dishes, a King Crab stuffed that I can't wait to taste, Pork Chops, Grilled Petit Filet Mignons with peppercorn sauce. I am hungry just thinking about it. Only heard disappointment about the Spinach and Artichoke Dip Pita Dipping Chips so I would advise you to skip that. Didn't taste it myself but got 2 not too great reviews on that.
Overall a well rounded Restaurant that opened in May 2011 and fine tuning their menu, which was great to hear. They listen to their customers. And the prices are good Oxtail for $895 I do believe was the price. I want to see what they can do with Oxtail. This is now my new favourite restaurant and we are already planning our next visit. Can't wait.

Restaurant Week Stop Number 2
The food at Guilt Trip was on point, I have eaten here before but for some reason I only remember it during restaurant week. I am not quite sure why. It never pops into my head when I am looking for something different to eat which is often. The service was good, servers attentive a few times a little too much where it was borderline annoying. Then again we were the last reservation for the night so maybe they just wanted to go home. A lot of compliments to the server who apologised for packing up the chairs while we were still there and told us to take our time. It was not a hint for us to hurry up with our meal. Decor nothing to write home about but after my first glance over if the food good and price is right decor is way at the bottom of my must haves for restaurants.
That is why we will eat at a hole in the wall once we think the food is good. and we won't die of food poisoning. So take note restauranteur pay more attention to the quality of your food and the service you provide than spending your last dollar and pretty decor. Jamaican attention span short. I will definately remember Guilt Trip after this years Restaurant Week. Good job guys I will be back.

Restaurant week menu- Had the Black & white sesame seed crusted shrimp & crab cake with black bean ginger salsa as my appetizer, tasted the Mixed greens & herb salad with Maytag blue cheese, spiced candid pecan pralines, fire roasted beet root & Anjou pear with zesty white balsamic vinaigrette. Both were very good. Loved my shrimp and crab cake.... Yummy. Then had the Soy ginger sea bass with fresh pineapple salsa & orange peppers and tasted the Spice roasted eggplant stuffed with pumpkin, Vidalia onion & garbanzo bean ragout with scotch bonnet tomato sauce & parmesan dustings. Nice big serving for both. I am no vegetarian but I would have had the eggplant dish. Did not miss the meat. I was stuffed so I took home my Rum & raisin cheesecake with sorrel & Ortanique orange compote which I had tonight and yes tasted the Chocolate in three parts dessert which was a sin in and of itself. I give 3 thumbs up for the food. |

My regular lunchtime haunt. Affordable with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. Not to mention that the food is GREAT.
Don't let the location prevent you from visiting what's sure to be a Waterfront hot spot in the coming years

Just ok...
Food: The food was really just ok - can't say there was anything spectacular about it.
Service: They at first brought the wrong order out, then I had to wait for them to seemingly catch the fowl and curry it.
Additionally, the "waiter" was a bit "slow" mentally, and the person is charge was very impatient with him considering his mental state - this display should not be done in front of customers.
Ambiance: Touch and Go - mom and pop lunch spot.
Parking: Had to park in a paid parking lot across the street and cross a busy thoroughfare - hence, the alternative would be roadside parking.

Hidden Gem
Since I'm often in the downtown area I was really happy to find this place. It's one of the few places in Downtown Kingston where you can not only get access to free wifi but have a pretty decent "soup and sandwich" type lunch in a cozy, quiet setting.
The prices aren't bad and both the food and the service is good.
I recommend the Jerk Chicken sandwich w/cheese and the Pepperpot soup.
(You can buy half servings if you're not big eater.)

Undoubtably one of the best
Oh how I love this beach. It's beautiful, remote, secluded, clean, nice ambiance...and just great!
Set within a replica of a botanical garden and has a river adjoining the beach. This causes the temperature of the beach to fluctuate between hot and cold - if you're proned to sickness, pill up before you go.
Absolutely great place to chill with a loved one of friends on a Sunday afternoon.

Very chill spot
Thumbs up for originality in recipes. As a start-up it's a great place -nice lunch spot to grab something quick and open on weekends.
Think that there can be more variety to the menu but I believe that this will come over time...

Four friends went on a trek to this restaurant and it wasn't as difficult to find and we thought it would have been...the food took a little long to be served (about 30 - 45 minutes) and our waitress wasn't as jovial as we would have liked (but she wasn't so bad that we didn't leave a tip). The food was great, i had garlic lobster and tasted the curried shrimp. The pork also got rave reviews. Dessert was a red velvet, chocolate & cheesecake mix that was heavenly...the ice cream however was blah....Best of all was the bill at the end, which considering that i had ordered lobster had us all in shock at it's total ('twas so low). I would definitely go back...and would recommend it for all looking for good Jamaican fare.

Yummy Pasta!
I know pasta is a filling dish so I tried to go with my tank on E ;) I tried two varieties, the first was bowtie pasta, with tomato basil sauce, shrimp and roasted veggies and the second with linguine, chicken, jerk sausage and vodka cream sauce. Everything was delicious and I really wanted to go get more chicken and sausage! It was so spicy and flavourful! but alas despite all my efforts to limit myself to tiny pasta portions I was still at full capacity after two servings....which makes me consider if I would ever go back...I simply can't justify the $1600 price tag
+drinks +service charge knowing I won't be able to eat much pasta. i'm on a budget! $1600 covers one big ol plate of jerk chicken pasta with drinks included at my fave pasta joint ;)

Decent little hidden gem
Tried the Turkey Sandwich, which wasn't bad. Would have been better if were on a nice french or sub bread instead of regular sliced/sandwich bread though.
Also tried the Guinness Frappe. This had a very nice flavour.I just wish the consistency were thicker, then it would have been perfect.
The staff members were very friendly and the service was good. Free wifi is also a plus.
Seating is outdoor.

Good value and variety
I always take visitors here to get their souvenirs to take back home. Good variety and the prices are way more reasonable than what they'd find in the resort areas or the airport stores.
