Oh how I love this beach. It's beautiful, remote, secluded, clean, nice ambiance...and just great!
Set within a replica of a botanical garden and has a river adjoining the beach. This causes the temperature of the beach to fluctuate between hot and cold - if you're proned to sickness, pill up before you go.
Absolutely great place to chill with a loved one of friends on a Sunday afternoon.

Nice hide-away for the public been visiting here for years... waters will be a bit ruff for some and too cold for others; but for that beach experience away from the madd crowds in scenic Portland Jamaica this is it. My best beach in Jamaica. Food is good but BYOF and leave it in the car/bus. The changing rooms and "rest area" will always need to be improved. Price for food is as expected moderate...Loud children and people yes at time but no Loud music makes this an ideal family get away.

one of my favourite beaches in Jamaica!!! OMG the scenery is perfect. the water is freezing and I didn't even care it is so beautiful! and the river is gorgeous you can see the bottom! and the fishies!!! Frenchmans cove is a really nice beach. The place is beautiful and is rarely crowded.
Its not free but the entry cost is nominal. If you're visiting Portland you should check it out.
